GENEALOGICALANALYSIS AND ALLOCATION OF DONORS AND SOURCES OF LARGE FRUITS FROM COMMON CHERRY GENE POOL

The paper analyzes the history of cherry selection and presents the genealogical analysis of common cherry gene pool. During the work done it was proved that in most varieties there is a heritability of fruits large size in the parental lines. Further assessment of the genealogical analysis has allowed us to identify the following donors and sources of breeding-significant signs such as large-fruits, late ripeness and early ripeness: ‘Melitopolskaya desertnaya’, ‘Pandi’ and ‘Fanal’, ‘Krasa Severa’ and ‘Zhukovskaya’. The cultivar ‘Lyubskaya’ is a hidden donor of the large-fruits sign, which is inherited through a generation.
