CIRCASSIAN WALNUT AT ADYGEI BRANCH OF THE FSBSI RUSSIAN RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF FLORICULTURE AND SUBTROPICAL CROPS

This paper describes a scientific work carried out at Adygei Branch of the FSBSI Russian Research Institute of Floriculture and Subtropical Crops in the field of nut crops since 2008. The object of the study is Circassian walnut (Juglans regia L.). As a result of the study, the remontant form Tkhakushinsky-2 was recorded. The paper describes the selected form and provides information on its location. The recorded form has a good fruit quality for food purposes. On the territory of Adygei Branch, a plot with seeds of the allocated remontant form Tkhakushinsky-2 was laid for breeding purposes. On this plot, there was carried out a work aiming to study seed progeny in details. The rates were fixed in the summer for two years. It was found that the gain in height was 18,65 cm, the increase in diameter was 2,26 mm, the diameter of the crown along the row increased by 9,35 cm, and across the row it increased by 16,84 cm.
