The Institute's gene pool includes various collections of floral and ornamental crops, most of which are bulbous herbaceous plants that are cultivated both in open and protected ground conditions. Iridaceae Amaryllidaceae representatives are cultivated in the protected ground of the Institute. Currently, the collection includes Hippeastrum cultivars, 4 species of Nerine, three – Lycoris, two species of Zephyranthes and Habranthus, as well as Amaryllis and Brunsdonna. As a result of the study, the collection composition has been clarified; the terms and characteristics of the blooming among species and cultivars have been established. It is noted that most of the species bloom in the summer and autumn periods. The largest number of species has a pink color of varying intensity.
