The paper presents the results of breeding research, which was carried out in the years 2012–2017 and included Pelargonium L'Herit. representatives; the method of hybridization was used in this research. Breeding models of crisped-leaf pelargonium (Pelargonium crispum) were created taking into account the limiting factors existing on the Black Sea coast of Russia: critical temperature fluctuations at different stages of plant development, highly infected pathogenic background, water deficiency, etc. The paper also shows certain possibilities for creating new modern genotypes of this culture, using the methods of intervarietal and interspecific hybridization. There were marked out some promising valuable recombinants and productive families with high output of decorative and relatively resistant forms. 19 promising forms with a set of positive qualities were identified from these families, surpassing parental forms in their plasticity and ornamental qualities. Finally, the paper describes new cultivars resistant to extreme environmental factors in the humid subtropical region of Krasnodar.
