TO THE PROBLEM OF EXTENDING FRUIT CROPS NURSERIES IN DAGESTAN

In connection with the fundamental, qualitatively new changes in modern gardening, the problems of improving the organization and efficiency of nursery enterprises are of a paramount importance. Despite the fact that statistics show a positive trend in yields, areas of perennial plantings and gross fees, the gardening of Dagestan does not meet the requirements of modern production. There is an extremely low level of technological development of the industry, as well as disproportions in the breed-varietal structure of garden plantations and use of insufficiently adaptive cultivars, the cultivation of which is accompanied by large expenditures of funds and labor and other negative consequences most pronounced in reducing the quality and competitiveness of products. The main problems of fruit crops assortment are highlighted. It was noted that the idea of transition of domestic gardening to an intensive development path can be more actively implemented only basing on comprehensive, scientifically based program of practical technological actions. It is proposed to organize a Breeding and Innovation Nursery Centre in the Republic of Dagestan, the tasks of which will include: strict control over the phytosanitary condition of uterine plantations, the creation of a mother-seed base, ensuring the production of high-quality certified high-quality seedlings of domestic breeding; introduction of resource-saving production technologies. The leading role of state support in nurseries development is indicated in the paper.
