CURRENT PROBLEMS OF MODERN HORTICULTURE IN AZERBAIJAN

The paper considered the development of horticulture in Azerbaijan, according to modern requirements of industry intensification. Surveys of fruit-growing zones of the republic were carried out in order to optimize the location of fruit and berry plants, in accordance with modern requirements, and taking into account climatic conditions, the degree of air and soil pollution and biotic conditions. There is also information here about the accumulation of national genetic resources materials of cultivated and wild fruit relatives, about the production of virus-free planting material and introduction of new technologies for environmentally friendly fruit production, as well as about the creation of favorable conditions for high technologies. The detailes of highly skilled personnel training are revealed.
