The paper discusses the importance of agrarian education in achieving sustainable development, as well as the need to focus science and education on the basic principles of “a green” economy and adaptive agriculture. The priority effect of education should be ensured by the formation of professional skills and responsibility for decisions made, as well as by much more accelerated development, compared with other types of human material activity. The Department of Plant Physiology of RSAU – K. A. Timiryazev MAA presented its experience in the formation of an interdisciplinary educational space for training of gardeners. The possibilities and effectiveness of combining traditional methods and distance learning are shown.
