VARIANTS OF USING TALL IRIS × HYBRIDA HORT. CULTIVARS IN LANDSCAPE DESIGN

Long-term research of the best color combinations of tall Iris × hybrida hort. cultivars in the collection of Nikitsky Botanical Garden was carried out. In practice, various combinations of cultivars were tested, in different quantitative composition, using various principles of coloristics. During the research, the most effective principles of combining tall Iris × hybrida hort. cultivars, according to the laws of color harmony, were revealed. Also, when creating the compositions, the following morphobiological features of the cultivars were taken into account: shape, color of perianth segments and beards; blooming time. As a result of the research, highly ornamental groups were formed using 59 cultivars. These compositional solutions are recommended for use in landscape design.
