Apple tree is the most common fruit crop in the world. The most harmful disease for this crop is apple scab. The climatic conditions in the humid subtropics of Abkhazia differ significantly from the temperate climate, contributing to the development of various pathogens, so one of the topical issues of apple cultivation in the republic is the study of cultivars’ resistance to apple scab. In the conditions of the Republic of Abkhazia, Gala cv. is the most resistant to apple scab among the new introduced cultivars. The cultivars ‘Golden Rangers’, ‘Red Chief’, ‘Abkhazskoye Zimneye R-58’, and ‘Letneye’ also showed relative resistance to apple scab. From the local cultivars, the most resistant to apple scab are ‘Abkhazskoye Zimneye’, ‘Mayskoye’ and ‘Sukhumskoye shampanskoye’.
