EARTH – SPACE – FRIENDSHIP TREE

The Friendship Tree, created in 1934 by the breeder F. M. Zorin is a symbol of the common unity. This paper is based on the inventory materials and digitization of the exhibits from the exhibition pavilion at the Botanical Garden "Friendship Tree". A new tradition in the cosmonaut team to leave memorable green autographs in the crown of the Friendship Tree appeared after the grafting made by G. Titov in 1962. Yu. A. Gagarin with cosmonauts V. Tereshkova, A. Nikolayev and V. Komarov made a memorable grafting on November 27, 1964. From 1962 to 2014, 32 Soviet (then Russian) and 3 foreign cosmonauts became guests of the Garden "Friendship Tree". The paper presents historical facts related to the visits of cosmonauts to the Garden "Friendship Tree" and the appearance in the museum of unique gifts to the Friendship Tree – a box with the soil that has been in space, and a box with the soil taken from Yuri Gagarin’s landing site.
