The genus Prunus is characterized by significant species diversity formed in the process of evolution. Given the economic value of many representatives of this taxon, its study using molecular genetic methods is an urgent task. One of the promising areas is associated with the development and testing of new molecular genetic marker systems on species of the genus Prunus. Such types of markers include IRAP- and REMAPmarkers based on retrotransposon polymorphism. This work was carried out using 102 samples of the genus Prunus, including the species P. domestica, P. cerasifera, P. salicina, P. rossica, P. armeniaca, P. spinose, P. persica, P. mira, P. avium and P. cerasus. For genotyping, 3 IRAP-markers previously used on individual crops of the genus and a REMAP-marker were selected. The results obtained in the genotyping process revealed a high interspecific and intraspecific level of polymorphism for all IRAP-markers used in the work. The results of the polymorphism analysis for this REMAP-marker in individual crops are comparable with the corresponding results for IRAP-markers and are included in the general results of genotyping Prunus species. Based on the results of genotyping 102 samples of stone fruits, a dendrogram was constructed using the UPGMA method. Additionally, the sample was analyzed using the PCoA method. The obtained clustering results are consistent with the currently accepted information on the phylogeny of representatives of the genus Prunus. However, the data on the species relationship of the subgenus Prunophora established in the course of our work indicate complex phylogenetic relationships within the subgenus, requiring comprehensive study. In turn, the conducted molecular genetic study made it possible to supplement the world data on Prunus species obtained using retrotransposon markers and to identify the potential of using IRAP and REMAP markers to study interspecific and intraspecific phylogenetic relationships within the genus.
