An integrated approach to the development of urban areas is based on the creation of new and reconstruction of existing landscaping facilities, taking into account the characteristics of a particular region, such as climate, soil composition, lighting level, relief and the assortment of plants formed on these features. Deciduous trees, which vary in habitus, crown density and leaf blade sizes, form the first tier of plantings and are planted in the form of solitary, ordinary plantings, and small arrays, play an important role in the formation of a comfortable urban environment. The proposed range is based on the practical experience of the authors, as well as the staff of the botanical gardens and arboretum parks of the Sochi Black Sea region. It includes 12 species of evergreen and 23 species of deciduous trees recommended for use in landscaping public garden and park facilities in the coastal area of the region. Information is provided on the recommended use when creating gardening and park facilities. Resistance to biotic factors is an important feature when choosing plants for landscaping. The use of inimitable or poorly expressed types of deciduous trees in the creation of garden and park facilities makes it possible to significantly reduce the amount of plant protection products used, which is extremely important for urban plantings. In recent decades, the phytosanitary situation in the region has been complicated by the appearance of alien phytophagous species, which significantly affect the state of ornamental plants in the region. Due to the fact that a number of phytophages damage their forage species to a very high degree, some deciduous trees widespread in the region were excluded from the adaptive range. A protection system is provided for public plantings, including annual monitoring of the state of phytophagous and phytopathogenic populations and the minimum required number of treatments to regulate their populations.
