Corylus pontica (K. Koch H.J.P. Winkl.) belongs to the most valuable nut crops. Biotechnological methods are being successfully used to preserve and micro-propagate representatives of many plant species, including hazelnut species. The purpose of our research is to study the features of the stage of in vitro introduction and organogenesis induction for C. pontica. The objects of research are hazelnuts cultivars ‘Trepezund’, ‘Lamberto large-leaved’ and ‘Bomba’ collected by FRC SSC of RAS. In the experiment, shoots with axillary and apical buds were used, collected from plants in the period from March to June. Explants were cultured on Murashige and Skoog nutrient media containing 6-benzylaminopurine and gibberellic acid growth regulators in various concentrations. As a result of the research, it was found that the highest percentage of explants sterile from bacterial and fungal microflora was observed in the cultivars "Trapezund" (53.6 %) and "Bomba" (22.7 %) when sterilized with 96 % alcohol for 1 min and 0.05 % mercuric chloride for 10 min, the differences between the cultivars are significant. For the Lamberto red-leaved cultivar, the best sterilization results were recorded for the variant with explant treatment with 96 % alcohol for 1 min and 0.05 % mercuric chloride for 18 min. It was revealed that the greatest increase in shoots, as well as the number of internodes and leaves, was observed on a variant of the nutrient medium containing growth regulators at a concentration of 6 BAP – 2 mg/l; GA3 – 0.5 mg/l. These values were lower in hazelnut explants on medium with increased concentrations of 6 BAP to 3 mg/l and GA3 to 1.0 mg/l. It was shown that the coefficient of variability of biological features varied from an average value of 15.6 % (height of micro shoots) and 18.3 % (number of internodes) to a high value of 22.7 % (number of leaves).
